The impacts of climate change are happening now and will continue into the foreseeable future. The Eagle Valley community prioritizes climate action as an urgent priority so that current and future generations of citizens and guests can enjoy a flourishing year-round economy, recreational experiences, and a healthy resilient ecosystem that enhances the well-being of all.
The Climate Action Collaborative (CAC) is a group of local governments, businesses, schools, special districts and nonprofits tasked to implement the recommendations of the Climate Action Plan for the Eagle County Community. The plan recommends county-wide carbon pollution reduction targets of 50% by 2030 and 80% by 2050, from the Eagle County 2014 baseline inventory.
The Collaborative meets on a rolling basis throughout the year, and includes working groups focusing on emission reductions from: buildings (residential & commercial), transportation, waste and the landfill, and our energy supply. There are also working groups dedicated to water conservation and natural climate solutions in the Eagle Valley.
The Climate Action Collaborative (CAC) Board is composed of Eagle County and local municipality leadership that have adopted the Eagle County Climate Action Plan and financially contribute to the CAC. The Board assists with preparing and adopting the CAC’s annual budget, funding mechanisms, and goals.
CAC Board meetings are open to the public and we welcome input and feedback. Meetings occur on the first Friday of every other month from 10:00-11:30 AM and are generally in a hybrid format.
