Powering our community with 100% renewable energy is a critical goal in the Climate Action Plan. The Collaborative works to support the development of clean energy projects such as solar, geothermal and battery storage, as well as the uptake of demand response programs and time-of-use rates that support grid reliability.

Priority Actions

From the 2026 Climate Action Plan Update

Support Holy Cross Energy’s goal of reaching 100% renewable energy by 2030, and Xcel Energy and Black Hills Energy in achieving or exceeding their greenhouse gas reduction targets as required by state law by 2030

Support electric utilities in the development, implementation, and uptake of programs and technologies that support a clean and reliable energy grid, including but not limited to demand response, time-of-use rates, grid interactive technologies, and battery storage

Monitor and promote the most efficient and cost-effective renewable energy options, such as geothermal, waste heat utilization, or other technologies

Support the redevelopment of brownfield sites for solar, battery storage, and other energy projects around Eagle County
